Job Summary : Provides emergency and non-emergency care to patients in the pre-hospital and inter-facility setting. Follow current protocols, policy and procedures.
Qualifications / Educational Requirements :
- Valid Iowa Class D3 Licensure.
- Paramedic certification with Critical Care Paramedic Endorsement or Registered Nurse Licensure in the State of Iowa.
- AHA HCP CPR and ACLS required.
- AHA PALS, Neonatal Resuscitation Provider and PHTLS preferred.
- National Registry Certification Paramedic preferred.
- Emergency Vehicle Driving Safety Course preferred.
Responsibilities / essential functions : The person in this position must be able to perform the following essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
Be prepared to respond in a timely and safe manner to emergent and non-emergent request.Critical thinking, scene control, assessment and gaining access to patients.Provides competent patient care to all patent populations.Transport and treatment of patients established in EMS protocols.Documents in the medical records and communicates pertinent patient information in a timely and accurate manner.Attends departmental in-services and staff meetings as required or requested.Acts in a professional manner.Operate the secure car, wheelchair and ambulance in accordance to the driving policy.Participate in staff meetings and continuing education as directed.Maintain patient records according to policy and procedures.Acts in a professional manner reflecting the mission, vision and values of care ambulance.All other duties as assigned.Regular and reliable attendance is expected.Turns in appropriate documents (PCRs) prior to leaving duty.Comply with HIPAA regulations.Follow infection control policy.Knowledge and understanding of current EMS Protocols and Iowa Scope of Practice for all levels.Physical Elements
