Project Development Officer
Reports to : Planning & Development Director
Salary (Grade) : $55k / yr
Status : Reg., Full-Time (Exempt)
Location : Planning and Development Office 112 Bluff St, Winnebago, NE
Job Purpose & Position Overview
This position will be a part of the Planning and Development Office team and be responsible for project research and development, and fundraising including but not limited to grant drafting, editing, of application developed to support departments and programs of the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska. The Project Development office will work with department heads and program staff to ensure grant application quality. The Project development officer will assist senior level and or contract staff on complex applications and special project including renewed funding.
Specific Job Duties / Responsibilities :
Demonstrate the Winnebago Tribes core mission, vision and valuesFamiliarizes self with the various departments and programs of the Tribe.Familiarizes self with Tribal policies and procedures, and federal regulations related to grant applications and managementGathers information data, and related documents for raising funding including but not limited to grant applications.Research and identify grant programs that would support the various Tribal departments and programs.Research and develop strategic approaches to various needs of the various Tribal Departments and programs that align with funding entities.Develop logic models and simple evaluation plans.Prepares project budgets, writes application narratives, and prepares attachments for grant applications and other fund raising approaches.Assembles and enters documents, proposals and attachments in funding portals for grant application submission by the Planning and Development DirectorConduct meeting to identify and prioritize projects needs as needed with Tribal department and program staff.Engages leadership, Planning and Development Director, and other as needed on complex application.Write or assist other tribal department and program staff in writing grant application renewals.Review and edit applications prepared by department peers and or Tribal department and program staff.Provide timely advice and information on funding opportunities, requirements and proceduresTroubleshoot conflict resolution with various agencies.Serve as liaison to supervisor, directors and staff and funding agencies.Coordinate funding program activities.Responsible for fiscal requirements of project applications.Other duties as assigned.Makes decisions in matters of significance.Required Qualifications / Skills :
Bachelors Degree and 2+ years in grant application and writing or combination of experience and education; knowledge of Winnebago Tribe grant programs preferredExcellent organizational skillsCapable of identifying when experts need to be engaged in the project planning processAbility to work flexible hours / shiftsProficient use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Strong command of English to read, write, and speak fluentlyEnthusiastic and dedicated to the challenges of helping other peopleProfessional in communications, appearance, relationships, and responsivenessSelf-starter with the ability to perform with little or no direct supervisionAbility to pass drug screen and background checksMust have a valid US Drivers licenseTraining Requirements :
Must be willing to pursue professional certification and / or training as directedPhysical Requirements :
Normal to light office work which includes the ability to lift up to 10lbs.Regularly required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, phone, and various office equipment.While performing daily duties, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear and comprehend.Ability to drive company owned or personal vehicle.Mental Requirements :
