Job Summary

This role will primarily support a variety of exciting and cutting-edge research programs under a larger number of the CREST (collective for Resilient Societies and Technologies) Initiative. These include but are not limited to RAPID, Identify, and Resilient Shield and projects. The incumbent will apply acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments / projects / tasks of moderate scope and complexity; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action.

Fully analyzes issues and problems, gathers data and information, finds and evaluates alternatives and makes sound recommendations.

The ideal candidate is a strong public health professional who leads the coordination of complex domestic and international public health projects. Demonstrates good judgment and assists in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions in multi-cultural and inter-disciplinary teams and contexts. Primarily deals with programs and proposals that are moderately complex in nature and diverse in scope, such as societal resilience, outbreak analytics and forecasting, digital health, and others. Assists in developing new programs, policies or procedures for possible implementation. Maintains communication across diverse stakeholders such as CDC, Ministries of Health, other academic partners, local and state health departments, sub-contractors, and international partners.

The Program Coordinator will ensure that all programmatic activities and related administrative processes are well-integrated between the UCSF Institute for Global Health Sciences and its partners. They will monitor and report on programmatic progress, including collaboration with the Grants Manager and program managers to ensure that vendor agreements and invoices are appropriately received, processed, and submitted.

The Program Coordinator will be responsible for key public health activities, including contributing to research, monitoring and evaluation projects related to the Resilient Shield project, and knowledge dissemination. The Program Coordinator will also be responsible for setting up communication systems among team members, funders, and partners, including scheduling conference calls, setting agendas for meetings, and sharing meeting notes and action items. They will also contribute to public-facing websites. The Program Coordinator will analyze issues and problems, gather data and information, find and evaluate alternatives and make sound recommendations to the Program Manager, Grant Manager and other relevant program staff.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $62,500 - $93,800 (Annual Rate).

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
• 1+ years of directly relevant experience.
• Working knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.
• Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Proficient in ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
• Demonstrates ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
• Demonstrates ability to analyze, research and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail.
• Proficient in ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
• Working knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques.
• Working knowledge of delivering program reports
• Ability to work as a team member or on individual projects with limited supervision and guidance.
