About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President, Federal Government Affairs to lead the development and implementation of a proactive public policy strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and protecting business interests, with a key focus on addiction policy and ensuring patient access to addiction treatment. This role involves designing and implementing integrated government affairs strategies, overseeing engagement with the Federal government at all levels, and broadening the company's presence in Washington. The VP will also be tasked with identifying and anticipating emerging policy developments, maintaining effective communication with senior leadership, and adjusting the government affairs strategy as needed. A seasoned professional with a deep understanding of the Federal landscape and a proven track record in corporate government relations is essential.
Applicants for the Vice President, Federal Government Affairs position at the company should have a BS or BA degree, with a minimum of 15 years' experience in pharmaceuticals, government, government affairs, or policy. A strong preference is given to those with experience on Capitol Hill, in a federal agency, or a similar role. The role requires extensive knowledge of the U.S. healthcare system, previous work history within the pharmaceutical and / or biotechnology industry, and experience in managing and developing teams. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, proactive leader with acute political sensitivity, the ability to work cross-functionally, and a proven ability to distill complex issues into concise, impactful messaging. Strong executive presence, communication, and influencing skills are a must, as is the ability to operate as an enterprise-wide leader and ensure compliance with government affairs regulations.
