Job description

Travel Perfusionist – Contract Opportunity (Hartford, Connecticut)

Are you an experienced Perfusionist looking for an exciting travel assignment in Connecticut? We're seeking a skilled professional to join a dedicated cardiac team providing advanced perfusion support across a variety of clinical settings.

Position Details

  • Schedule : Full-time (40 hours / week)
  • Shift : 8-hour PM shifts with rotating call (including weekends and holidays)
  • Call Requirement : 30-minute response time; 24-hour call shifts (0600–0600)
  • Rotation : 13-person schedule including morning, afternoon, and call shifts
  • Contract Length : 92 weeks

Compensation

  • Travel Pay Package : $5,100–$5,300 per week (hourly rate plus stipends)
  • Local Pay Rate : $95–$110 / hour (no travel stipends)
  • Requirements

  • 2 years of experience as a licensed Perfusionist
  • Current State of Connecticut Perfusion License
  • ABCP Certification
  • BLS Certification
  • Responsibilities

  • Provide perfusion support for elective and emergent adult open-heart procedures including CABG, AVR, MVR, aortic repairs, AngioVac, heart transplants, ECMO, and acute VADs
  • Support non-cardiac procedures such as liver transplants, HIPEC, ECMO (VV), and autologous blood recovery
  • Manage cardiac support devices including IABP, Impella (CP, 5.5, RP Flex), ProTek Duo, ECMO (VA), CentriMag, and HeartMate 3
  • Safely operate heart / lung machines and accessory equipment in accordance with departmental guidelines
  • Administer medications, blood products, and anesthetic agents under physician supervision
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance, documentation, and therapy adjustments
  • Maintain proficiency with accessory equipment and participate in policy development, quality improvement, and staff education initiatives
