About The Position

Description :
The Registered Nurse manages, organizes, and administers nursing care for patients of all ages under the supervision of the Physician.
Compliance with applicable laws and policies is a condition of employment.
Incumbent must have the skills, ability, and judgment to perform the following essential job duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation :
Assesses data regarding the patient's physical, psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions based on the patient's age and development.
Reports and documents all observed symptoms, reactions, and changes in the patient's condition.
Utilizes the nursing process to direct and deliver patient care.
Develops, implements, revises, and evaluates a formal plan of care.
Administers medications using the Five Rights of Medication Administration.
Provides and instructs patients and / or their families or significant others with educational information appropriate for age and learning abilities.
Provides assistance to the Operating Practitioner and CRNA.
Participates in sterilization, stocking, and case set-up.
Prepares and cleans room, instruments, and supplies as scheduled.
Responsible for rotation of call coverage as assigned.
Responsible for circulating and scrub nurse duties as assigned.
Assists in Sterile Processing and endoscopy.
Creates and maintains a comfortable and safe environment for patients, visitors, and other employees.
Organizes and prioritizes daily assignments to provide optimal patient care and increase productivity.
Conforms and complies with policies and procedures.
Adheres to Infection Control Policies and Procedures and the use of Universal Precautions.
Possesses knowledge of safety policies, procedures, and protocols.
Independently maintains and updates skills as BLS certification, required in-services, and continuing education for professional improvement.
Promotes effective interdepartmental and intradepartmental communications.
Participates in Nursing Quality Assurance.
Presents a professional, pleasant, and positive image.
Maintains patient and employee confidentiality at all times.
Reports directly to the Supervisor of Surgical Services.
