How You Can Make an Impact

As the Field Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for providing support to the MGE Underground’s Civil Construction, Supervisors, Foremen and Crew Members. The Field Safety Specialist works to detect, prevent, and mitigate safety risks. Provides subject matter expertise on field observations and provides consultation and guidance on corrective actions. Communicates safety trends and recommends corrective actions. Serves as a resource for the development, implementation, and sustainability of company safety initiatives. This position may / will require travel up to 75%.

How You Will Contribute

• Investigate safety incidents that result in employee injury, work procedure error, and damage to company and third-party property.
• Assist in the coaching, mentoring, and implementation of the Health, Safety, and Environmental programs in the field.
• Regularly review and be familiar with all applicable regulations, standards, and company policies to ensure compliance.
• Ensure all incidents are reported immediately to the Safety Manager and / or Safety Director.
• Participate and assist the Supervisors, Foremen, and Safety Director in the investigation of incidents to determine root cause, and corrective actions when necessary.
• Communicate safety trends and recommend safety corrective actions.
• Provide direction, support, and resources to Civil Construction Managers, Supervisors, and Foremen.
• Review safety obligations of the clients and ensure they are carried out as per the terms of the agreement, and communicated to the Project Managers, Supervisors, Foremen, and Crew Members.

Pay : $45.00 - $53.00 per hour

This pay range is our competitive compensation at the time of this job posting. Your pay will be determined based on experience, education, skills, and applicable knowledge.

Pre-Employment and Physical Requirements

Successful applicants must pass a drug screen and background check before beginning employment. This role may require walking or standing for prolonged periods of time, the ability to reach, bend, push, pull, and move as needed. You must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
