Student Extern Emergency Department

We are seeking a student extern for the Emergency Department at Providence. The extern will be an adjunct to the patient care team working under a nurse every step of the way.

Employment Type: Per Diem

Shifts Available: Variable

Hours: 12-hour shifts

Location: Providence Medical Center - Kansas City, KS

Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Adjunct to the total care team
• Successfully completed Fundamentals of Nursing class
• Enrolled in an accredited RN Nursing Program (ADN OR BSN)
• Will function in the capacity of an assistant, once cleared by a supervisor, they will be moved to the appropriate skill level.

Qualifications

Education and work experience:

• Successfully completed the first semester of an RN nursing program
• Must be in good and academic standing
• Current Basic Life Support Certification
• Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
