Overview

We Are Looking for a Research Director, Gaming. Open World is a full-service community-minded marketing agency connecting brands and developers with gamers around the world. Our Research & Analytics team combines our proprietary behavioral dataset, PlayDX, with proven audience research methods to deliver data-driven insights for the gaming market. We’re looking for a Research Director to oversee research project execution, mentor junior team members, build client relationships, and contribute to study design and proposals.

As a core member of our small but mighty R / DA team, you will help shape the future of gaming research and position the company as a leading expert in gamer behavior and decision-making through smart analytics and insights.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of research projects leveraging our behavioral dataset, PlayDX, and primary research methods including quantitative and qualitative approaches
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to streamline processes and deliver high-quality results and recommendations
  • Identify, build, and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted research advisor
  • Develop and refine research proposals, including methodology recommendations and project scope
  • Present research findings and strategic insights to clients, highlighting value and business implications
  • Collaborate with the data science team to translate complex data into meaningful reports, proprietary frameworks, and industry benchmarks
  • Work with the product team to build systems and outputs that scale the business
  • Drive innovation in research methodologies and data collection techniques
  • Contribute to the company’s expert positioning through thought leadership, blogs, and social media

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in market research, consumer insights, or data analytics
  • Comfortable with quantitative research methods and data analysis (quotas, click balancing, weighting, cross tabs, stat testing)
  • Qualitative research experience strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and communicate complex data
  • Comfortable working with numbers, large datasets, and ambiguous information
  • Experience in analytical storytelling, slide creation, and data visualization; dashboard-building is a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • High proficiency in Excel
  • Familiarity and / or hands-on experience with SQL is a plus
  • Experience with R or Python is a plus
  • Passion for the entertainment and gaming industries with a strong POV
  • Self-starter with a growth mindset and proactive problem-solving approach
  • Previous experience in gaming research is a strong advantage
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field

    Salary Range : $110,000-$125,000 (plus bonus)
