Must-Have :

1. Blood Product Administration

2. Cardiac Telemetry

3. Central line care and management

4. Chest tubes management

5. CVA management

6. External CPAP / BIPAP

7. Feeding tube care and management

8. Heparin Protocols

9. High Flow Nasal Cannula

10. Interpretation of dysrhythmias

11. Isolation Precautions

12. Management of Cardiac drips

13. Management of Vasoactive drips

14. Peripheral Line Care and Management

15. Phlebotomy

16. Starting and maintaining IVs

17. Telemetry - on unit monitoring

Description :

Minimum experience required is 1 year.

First-time travelers are accepted.

The patient population includes adolescents to geriatrics.

The unit handles mixed medical / surgical and intermediate care patients including neuro, respiratory, and cardiac cases.

Titrating cardiac drips is required.

Patient assignments may vary between all PCU, MS / Tele, or a mix based on patient acuity and staffing.

The staffing ratio is 1 : 4-5.

Floating may be required within the facility.

Weekends are required every other weekend.

There are no call requirements.

Travelers are expected to work during major holidays that fall within their assignment period, with specific policies regarding holiday availability.

Full compliance is required to start on time.

Availability to complete required documentation in a timely manner is essential.

Candidates must provide two supervisory references.

Compliance with all health and safety protocols is mandatory.

The work environment is a combination of telemetry and intermediate care.

The daily census on the unit averages around 30 patients.

The unit has a total of 36 beds.

Additional interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, and respiratory services.

Patient diagnoses cover a mixed population, including intermediate care.

Prior experience in a similar unit is preferred.
