Your role will include guiding patients and their families through education, coordinating activities of ancillary staff, and maintaining professional nursing standards. Key Responsibilities : Deliver direct patient care in a fast-paced Med Surg setting. Assess patient conditions, develop and implement individualized care plans. Monitor patient responses to treatments and adjust care as needed. Educate patients and their families about health conditions and care procedures. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. Adhere to infection control, safety standards, and hospital protocols. Qualifications : Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current Iowa RN licensure (underline and bold as required). BLS and ACLS certifications (via American Heart Association). Experience in a Med Surg setting preferred but not required. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Education & Experience : Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred. Previous Med Surg experience highly encouraged. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems. Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care. Certification & License Requirements : Current Iowa RN license BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association-issued card ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – American Heart Association-issued card Additional certifications such as TNCC, PALS, NRP are a plus but not mandatory. Additional Requirements : Proof of immunizations (MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, TDaP, COVID-19, Flu vaccination during Flu season). Negative 2-step Mantoux and / or QuantiFERON Gold test within the past year. Physical exam within one year of start date. Valid drug screening and criminal background checks. Respiratory Fit Test (with or without provided RFT). Completion of required background and compliance documentation within five business days prior to start date.
