LHH is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant with strong inventory and cost accounting expertise to join our client's finance team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on accounting environment, has a strong foundation in debits and credits, and enjoys working closely with operations. The position offers a unique opportunity to oversee wine and spirits inventory accounting, with growth potential to expand into broader areas of financial reporting and analysis. The anticipated salary for this role is between $90,000-$100,000 a year.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes for inventory and related accounts.
- Record and reconcile all inventory activity, including grape and bulk costing, packaging, and finished goods.
- Partner with operations and FP&A to oversee production accounting, standard vs. actual costs, overhead application, and variance analysis.
- Assess inventory reserves and recommend adjustments as needed.
- Lead the preparation of monthly bank reporting for inventory, including explanations of significant variances.
- Serve as the main point of contact for inventory during audits, providing roll forwards, reconciliations, and supporting analyses.
- Support the Director of Finance in financial statement review, annual audit, and process improvements.
- Oversee grape and bulk accounting, particularly during harvest season (e.g., overhead applications, grower assessment remittance, reconciliations).
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience).3+ years of accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing or inventory-driven environment.Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles.Advanced Excel skills; ERP experience required (Microsoft Navision a plus).Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze details and recommend solutions.Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Collaborative and adaptable, with strong communication skills and a commitment to accuracy.Benefits
