About The Position
Summary :
We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) to join its Everett Surgical Services team. This is a 6-week contract with guaranteed 40 hours per week. The role requires advanced knowledge of sterilization, decontamination, instrument assembly, and case cart preparation in a high-volume surgical environment.

Daily Caseload per Tech : ~65 surgical cases; ~1,200 tray volume
Weekend Requirement : Yes
Floating : No floating outside Sterile Processing Tech unit
Block Schedule : Not guaranteed; case-by-case consideration during contract
Responsibilities :
Perform all aspects of sterile processing including decontamination, instrument assembly, sterilization, and case cart preparation.
Ensure compliance with aseptic technique, sterilization wrapping procedures, and infection control standards.
Process specialty equipment for multiple surgical service lines : Ortho (totals), Robotics, Neuro, Vascular, Urology, ENT, Plastics, Bariatrics, OB / GYN, Endoscopy, Transplant, Cardiac, and more.
Operate and monitor sterilization equipment (steam, Steris, Sterrad, IUSS, biological / chemical indicators).
Reprocess flexible endoscopes (bronchoscopes, cystoscopes, EUS, TEE probes, etc.) using proper high-level disinfection methods.
Maintain accurate records using Sterile Processing Microsystem (SPM) and assist with Epic charting as needed.
Collaborate with surgical and nursing teams to ensure timely availability of sterile instrumentation.

Job Requirements
Key Requirements :
Minimum 2 years’ experience in Sterile Processing (acute hospital or ambulatory surgery center).
Experience required in inpatient, outpatient, and trauma surgical settings.
Must be comfortable processing high-volume surgical cases (~65 / day per tech).
Familiarity with SPM and Epic preferred.
COVID-19 vaccination required; exemptions no longer accepted by Everett Surgical Services.
Qualifications
Education :
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience :
At least 2 years of Sterile Processing Tech experience required.
Strong background across multiple surgical service lines (Ortho, Robotics, Neuro, Vascular, etc.).
License / Certifications :
Required : CBSPD or IAHCSMM / HSPA certification
Preferred : Additional CBSPD / IAHCSMM credentials, Epic training
Skills :
Aseptic technique, instrument tray organization, case cart preparation, proper sterilization / wrapping methods
Experience with sterilization equipment : steam, Sterrad, Steris, IUSS testing / monitoring
Flexible scope reprocessing (bronchoscopes, cystoscopes, EUS, TEE probes, etc.)
High-level disinfection (HLD), manual cleaning, ultrasonic cleaners, chemical agents for decontamination
Strong knowledge of trauma / implant processing, loaner and consignment trays
Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
