The Role :
Chapel Haven is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Therapist to support adults with autism and developmental disabilities on their journey towards independent living. The Therapist will provide individual and group therapy sessions, develop personalized treatment plans, and collaborate with staff, parents, and professionals to ensure student success. The ideal candidate will hold a valid Connecticut State license (LPC, LMFT) and have experience working with this unique population

Essential Responsibilities :
Providing individual and group therapy sessions tailored to the needs of the students.Implementing therapeutic strategies to support life skills, emotional regulation, and social interaction.Conducting assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust treatment approaches accordingly.Offering guidance and support to help students achieve their personal academic and independent living goals.Facilitating workshops and training sessions on topics related to personal development.Maintaining accurate and confidential records of therapy sessions and progress reports.MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS :
Master's degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.Valid CT state license (LPC, LCSW or LMFT).REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
Demonstrated experience working with young adults with autism and developmental disabilities.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with students and their families.Creative problem-solving skills and a flexible approach to therapy.Strong writing skills and the ability to assist others with writing tasks.Proficient use of technology and / or the ability to learn new systems documentation, timekeeping, billing, etc.Valid CT driver's licenseCommitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for students.Work independently and as a member of a team.Maintain positive work attitude.Obtain / maintain professional development requirements, in-service, and training requirements as mandated by professional licensing board and Chapel Haven Schleifer Center.Experience developing and implementing life skills training programs.Knowledge of additional therapeutic techniques or interventions relevant to this population.Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.Do not meet every single requirement?
