We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead procurement operations and optimize sourcing strategies in Worcester County. This role requires a proactive leader who can drive cost efficiency, ensure supplier performance, and enhance delivery timelines, all while maintaining high-quality standards. The ideal candidate will oversee vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and implement evaluation systems to support the company’s goals.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage the procurement of equipment, materials, and services, ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and timely delivery.
  • Conduct detailed analyses of supplier operations to identify factors impacting cost, reliability, and adherence to schedules.
  • Research and identify suppliers with relevant experience to ensure the availability of high-quality goods and services.
  • Utilize spend analysis data to uncover strategic sourcing opportunities and improve procurement outcomes.
  • Develop and execute negotiation strategies to secure favorable terms with vendors.
  • Implement and maintain a robust contract management framework to streamline the contract lifecycle.
  • Establish and oversee a supplier performance evaluation system to enhance vendor accountability and drive improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement strategies with organizational objectives.
  • Provide leadership and training to a team of procurement professionals, ensuring their success and development.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant certifications in procurement or materials management are a strong advantage. APICS would be a home run!
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in leadership roles within purchasing, particularly in manufacturing or materials management.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead teams, with experience overseeing a team of 3-5 employees.
  • Proficiency in inventory planning, control, and acting as a liaison between vendors, customers, and production personnel.
  • Familiarity with reading blueprints and handling routing and change orders.
  • Expertise in procurement metrics and KPIs, with a strong capacity to train and evaluate team performance.
  • Advanced system skills, including experience with Epicor ERP and strong Excel capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a reliable and confident managerial approach.
