Surgical Technician - OR - Days

Position Summary

Position prepares operating rooms for surgery, using appropriate techniques. Provides technical services and assists in other areas as assigned and directed. Position assists in nursing care and preparation of the surgical patient by performance of routine and delegated duties according to the standards and policies of the hospital and department. Performs scrub duties and related procedures and provides assistance in emergency procedures as well as scheduled and emergency cases.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements are a High school graduate or equivalent GED for all current employees. Completion of formal ORT program for all new hires. Thorough knowledge and experience in operative procedures, equipment and instrumentation. One year of hospital / surgical background or experience.
• Preferred Certification / Registration is a Completion of accredited Operating Room Technology course and preferred experience is One year of hospital / surgical background or experience.
• Required Licensure / Certification is CPR.
