Job Description :

The iFlex RN is part of Intermountain’s internal travel agency for assignments. This is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. This RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members. Our iFlex RNs are expected to float if not needed at assigned facility.

Primary Children's Hospital is the only Level I Pediatric Trauma Center in a five-state region. Our facility includes a 32-bed PICU, 16-bed CICU, 28-bed Neuro Trauma Unit, and a 50-bed Level IV NICU. Our iFlex Internal Travel Agency is hiring for a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. Primary Children's is a nationally recognized pediatric hospital known for its cutting-edge neonatal care and compassionate, family-centered approach.

About the iFlex RN Role – NICU :

As an iFlex RN in the NICU, you’ll be part of Intermountain Health’s internal travel team, providing expert care to premature and critically ill newborns. This role is ideal for experienced NICU nurses who are passionate about neonatal care and thrive in high-acuity environments.

Key Responsibilities :

• Provide specialized nursing care to premature and critically ill infants
• Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and manage neonatal equipment
• Collaborate with neonatologists and interdisciplinary teams
• Support and educate families during their NICU journey
• Maintain accurate documentation of care and interventions

Physical Requirements :

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

Need to walk and assist with transporting / ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing / pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.).

May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period.
