We are looking for a dedicated Administrative Assistant to join a respected non-profit organization in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this Contract-to-Permanent role, you will play a vital part in supporting individuals experiencing homelessness by helping them secure housing and access essential resources. This position offers comprehensive training and requires a motivated individual who enjoys teamwork and has strong technical skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel. You must be willing to work a rotating schedule and some weekends.
Responsibilities :
- Assist individuals experiencing homelessness with securing housing and completing necessary documentation.
- Manage and process grant applications to secure funding for housing initiatives.
- Calculate income and rent amounts to ensure accurate eligibility determinations.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance the effectiveness of resource allocations.
- Respond to inbound calls with professionalism and a courteous manner.
- Maintain accurate and organized department files and records.
- Provide financial counseling and guidance to clients as needed.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel and other tools to manage data and create reports.
- Ensure all client interactions and documentation follow established procedures.
- At least 1 year of experience in an administrative or client-facing role.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain a friendly, detail-oriented demeanor.
- Passion for working with underserved communities, particularly the homeless population.
- Self-motivated and able to quickly learn new systems and processes.
- Experience with compliance functions and regulatory documentation.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work well within a team environment.
