About the Role
Mechanical Engineer - In - Training Onsite - 5 days Houston, TX and Plano, TX Full Time.
Responsibilities :
- Serve as a member of mechanical team for the design of mechanical systems for client projects as assigned including :
- Perform engineering calculations and apply engineering principles to assist in the successful design, creation, and delivery of all mechanical AutoCAD and Revit drawings for each client project.
- Write, edit, and produce the accompanying specifications for each client project.
- Review and approve shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, addendums, and other construction documents assigned for mechanical-related items.
- Conduct field work and complete field reports on mechanical-related items to verify design as assigned.
- Knowledge of Uniform Mechanical and International Mechanical Codes.
- Working knowledge of LTY design standards and processes.
- Working knowledge of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems (HVAC).
- Beginning knowledge of LTY mission and vision; business leadership roles.
- Adaptable and open to learning new technologies and methodologies to stay in the forefront of mechanical engineering advancements.
- Participate in client meetings as necessary and / or as assigned by supervisor.
- Participate in career development training as assigned by supervisor or Human Resources.
Qualifications :
B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (F.E.) examination.Certified by the State of Texas as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT).Required Skills :
Exceptional attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple projects under strict deadlines.Ability to work well on a team.Exceptional written and verbal skills.Preferred Skills :
Knowledge of and experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.Knowledge of building codes.Previous experience in a MEP consulting environment.Previous experience designing MEP systems for schools.Experience in the design of HVAC systems, temperature controls, central plant design, and indoor air quality, as well as other mechanical systems for commercial buildings.
