About The Position

Job Title : Histology Technician

License : Valid state license required

Certifications : ASCP-HT, Associate's Degree in Science

• Previous hospital experience
• Must be willing to float between units

Description :

This position is for a Histology Technician.

The schedule is Sunday through Thursday.

The technician will perform routine hospital anatomical pathology specimens.

Skills required include additive fixatives, automated / manual microtome, and automatic tissue processors.

Experience in basic dye stains, decalcification, and dehydration techniques is essential.

The technician should be proficient in embedding techniques for various specimen sizes.

Familiarity with preparing frozen sections and mounting sections on glass slides is necessary.

Knowledge of special stains and immunohistochemistry is required.

Candidates must have experience preparing thin prep and cytospin specimens.

The role involves working with interdisciplinary support including phlebotomy and radiology.

Flexibility to work during major holidays is expected.

Travelers may float between similar facilities during their assignment.
