Job Description

Under general maintenance supervision, the Maintenance Technician performs repair and maintenance of the plant and material handling equipment as effectively and economically as possible while being consistent with plant policies, practices and procedures. The person in this position will constantly drive to minimize overall maintenance costs. This teammate will need the ability to work in a team setting or independently on projects that will ensure the division reaches its goals.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Perform all work in compliance with all EH&S standards and company procedures / policies
  • Inspects equipment for proper functioning and diagnoses equipment malfunctions
  • Dismantles, adjusts, repairs and assembles equipment according to blueprints, operating or repair manuals, and schematics using hand tools, pneumatic tools, hydraulic, electric tools (outdoor / indoor conditions at all plant locations)
  • Uses test equipment and diagnostic equipment to perform troubleshooting.
  • Responsible for performing preventative maintenance on all plant machinery and equipment
  • Operate mobile equipment and certify as mobile equipment operator for specific equipment (ie, forklift, carry deck, crane)
  • Proficient as boiler maker, welder, pipe fitter
  • Knowledgeable in Lockout / tag out procedures
  • Lead a work party in performing maintenance or repair work.
  • Be able to prepare detailed repair orders on completed maintenance assignments and parts used
  • Input information in maintenance tracking system
  • Assists during Cold and Hot Test as well as Startup of the Plant
  • Assists Safety department regarding safety and emergency measures and realization of safety and emergency plans.
  • Ensures that quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience
  • Knowledge of manufacturing plant processes
  • Good knowledge of local codes and standards
  • Motors, PLC, Drives Experience
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance knowledge
  • Experience in reading construction drawings
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Must be able to walk long distances and stand and work for more than 2 hours in tough environmental conditions (high temperature, high humidity, noise, & dust), lift 50 Lbs. and withstand heights of up to 500 feet. Pre-employment physical is required
  • Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC-card.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work
