Job description

Job Title : Certified Surgical Technician

Location : New York, NY (ZIP Code : 10011)

Start Date : October 27, 2025

Shift : Days 10 : 45 AM to 7 : 00 PM

Schedule : Monday to Friday (5 days / week, 7.5 hours / day, 37.5 hours / week)

Employment Type : Contract

Pay Rate :

  • Local : $49 / hour
  • Traveler : $57 / hour
  • Approx. Gross Weekly : $1,995.00
  • Approx. Net Weekly : $1,828.75

Job Summary :

The Certified Surgical Technician will provide surgical assistance to residents and attending physicians in the oral surgery clinic and dental ambulatory OR / procedure room. The ideal candidate will have recent hands-on experience and be highly proficient in surgical setup, patient care, and clinical support duties.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Escort patients to surgical chairs, screen patients, and review medical records to confirm readiness for surgery.
  • Provide continuous four-handed assistance to clinicians during procedures.
  • Disinfect and prepare countertops, mayo stands, and equipment prior to procedures.
  • Set up sterile instruments, surgical trays, and equipment in the operatory.
  • Take radiographs as requested (pre-, intra-, and post-operatively).
  • Restock cabinets / drawers and maintain inventory of surgical / medical supplies.
  • Assist with monitoring vital signs, suctioning, and instrument handling during procedures.
  • Break down and sanitize rooms post-procedure; dispose of medical waste properly.
  • Respond effectively to medical emergencies when required.
  • Required Skills & Qualifications :

  • Dental Assistant Certification Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Certified Surgical Technician experience Required
  • 3 years of experience required; 5 years preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and respond quickly during emergency situations
  • Proficiency in assisting with dental / oral surgeries and working in a fast-paced environment
  • Education :

  • Associate's Degree Required
