Medical Assistant
We are seeking a medical assistant to support physicians and healthcare professionals by performing both administrative and clinical tasks. This role plays a key part in delivering primary care services and managing patient interactions, with a strong emphasis on confidentiality and professionalism.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Maintain and update patient medical records; complete insurance documentation as needed
- Record patient medical histories and vital signs; document information using electronic systems
- Prepare patients for examination and explain procedures while ensuring privacy
- Collect lab specimens, sterilize instruments, and dispose of contaminated supplies
- Assist with wound care and cast maintenance when appropriate
- Manage correspondence, schedule appointments, and coordinate lab and hospital services
- Provide basic patient education on procedures, tests, and medications
- Ensure efficient patient flow throughout the clinic
- Handle callbacks to patients, pharmacies, and insurance providers as needed
- If certified / registered, authorize refills and call in prescriptions to pharmacies
- Keep treatment rooms stocked, organized, and clean
- Prioritize tasks and maintain a compassionate, professional demeanor with patients
- Adhere to all regulations regarding patient information and safety
- Monitor and correct safety concerns in patient areas
- Participate in departmental meetings and committees
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance
Job Qualifications
Required :
Current or previous Kansas CNA certification; OREnrollment in or completion of a Medical Assistant program; ORActive Kansas EMT certification; ORNursing student who has completed first semester of clinical skills in an accredited program (must complete department checklist within 90 days of hire); OREnrollment in or completion of a pre-med, pre-optometry, pre-PA, or pre-dentistry program at an accredited university (must complete department checklist within 90 days of hire); ORCompletion of an accredited surgical technologist program (must complete department checklist within 90 days of hire)BLS certification upon hirePreferred :

Pay and Benefits : The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $23.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
