Responsibilities Work in a Level 4 trauma Emergency Department with 24 beds, 4 critical rooms, and 1 trauma room Acute care hospital setting serving 80-110 patients per day Intake model used for lower acuity patients; fast-track system in place Flexible nurse-to-patient ratios, typically 1 : 4 in general ED and 1 : 1-1 : 2 for high acuity patients Night shift position, 12-hour shifts, with every other weekend required and up to two on-call shifts per 28 days Floating required between East / West ED, generally prescheduled Use of Cerner EMR; experience preferred Psych / seclusion rooms present, and mixed ER holds responsibility for own patients Charge nurse and house supervisor on site 24 / 7 Daily responsibilities include managing a diverse patient population with conditions such as chest pain, abdominal pain, minor trauma, and respiratory distress RN is responsible for troubleshooting RT equipment and collaborating with RT for advanced respiratory interventions RNs expected to initiate and read all bedside telemetry, EKGs, and manage ED holds Unit support includes 24 / 7 in-house security, EED techs, paramedics, and charge nurse with no patient assignment Hospital orientation provided, followed by a 12-hour orientation shift in each ED Required to wear navy blue Dignity scrubs Must work some major holidays including July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve / Day, and New Year's Eve / Day First time travelers will be considered Requirements Active AZ or compact RN license required at the time of application Minimum of 2 years Emergency Department RN experience Current certifications : ACLS, BLS, TNCC, and either ENPC or PALS Experience in conscious sedation and acute MI management required Ability to read telemetry strips independently Ability to perform triage as demonstrated Must pass Relias Dysrhythmia exam and sterile technique skills test before starting Must not have been employed by CommonSpirit / CHI / Dignity within the last 12 months Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility if living in AZ, NV, NE, IA, or MN Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-630899.
