Key Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant

• As a Senior Accountant, prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, deferrals, reclassifications, and cash transactions.
• Review and analyze general ledger accounts for accuracy and GAAP compliance.
• Maintain, reconcile accounts, and perform bank reconciliations.
• Assist with budget variance investigations and explain findings to management.
• Cross-train and serve as backup for the Senior Job Cost Accountant.
• Review final closing statements (HUD / ALTA) and job cost summaries; explain variances.
• Reconcile construction loan accounts, maintain commission draw balances, and process payroll.
• Analyze revenue trends, prepare reports, and support dashboards and management reporting.
• Help develop accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
• Support audits with documentation, identify process improvements, and assist with related party rebills.
• Review accounts payable for accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborate with project managers, procurement, title companies, and auditors.
• Provide training to junior staff.
