Job Description
The Supply Chain and Planning Lead facilitates the timely planning of deliveries within the supply chain. They optimize inventory & production planning to meet delivery objectives. They oversee logistics, schedule resources (technicians / equipment), drive supplier OTD, and ensure that work is on schedule and lead times are communicated to the customer service team.
Essential Job Functions :
- Creates the production schedule and communicates the lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
- Leads the supply chain team (Shipping, Receiving, & Purchasing).
- Manages the process for creating and releasing production orders, outside processing P.O.s, and standard purchase orders.
- Expedite parts for customers and operations that delay schedules and update / alter schedules to meet customer needs during unforeseen events.
- Work with and communicate with suppliers to drive OTD (make calls, send emails, hold review meetings when needed to drive problem solving and corrective actions with suppliers).
- Evaluates inventory exception requests and communicates approval or disapproval to appropriate individuals.
- Conducts inventory analysis (PFEP, Min-Max Reviews, Set Kanban Levels).
- Work with the supply chain, quoting, and production team to establish and clearly communicate product lead times.
- Review engineering change notices when applicable and locate parts to meet latest revision requirements.
- Drive TAT performance for our customers by working with operations and supply chain to expedite parts, level load the production schedule, and make improvements where applicable.
Requirements :
Solid understanding of production planning.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute amounts such as discounts, interest, and percent. Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.Ability to communicate verbally in one-on-one situations and group meetings with management and co-workers; communicate professionally and get clarification when needed.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret simple and complex instructions, work orders, and technical procedures. Ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to operate the software and equipment used in the department, including but not limited to Microsoft Excel and Corridor (ERP System, Example : SAP).Ability to interact in a positive and professional manner; develop and maintain strong working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, vendors, and customers.Strong attention to detail and focus on quality and accuracy.Exhibits dependability, including following instructions; responding to supervisor’s direction; and taking responsibility for own actions.Ability to take initiative, including asking for and offering help when needed; performs work independently without being prompted.Ability to prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently, and work within deadlines.
