Job description : PRIMARY FUNCTION :
Wakeman Boys & Girls Club is seeking a passionate, mission-driven team-builder to fill the McKinley Elementary School Site Director role. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for the growth, quality, and success of the program. The primary responsibility of the Site Director is to manage the day-to-day operations of the before-school and after-school program, as well as support the management of the Schools Out Program and the Summer Camp program at the Southport Clubhouse. The Site Director will foster a fun learning environment, utilizing a broad range of enrichment activities where students feel engaged and empowered.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Oversees program operations and the delivery of activities in accordance with Wakeman Boys & Girls Club mission and values, as well as with funder and school expectations
- Responsible for designing and implementing daily program schedule and weekly / monthly activities
- Communicates regularly with supervisor on program updates, progress and needs
- Maintains accurate records of ASP and BSP staff schedules, staff documents, ratios, attendance, program space use and member participation, including as required by grant specifications.
- Ensures program spaces are maintained and safe during program hours.
- Implements balance of STEAM, academics, play, mentoring, social emotional learning and leadership activities into ASP programming.
- Evaluates performance and develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve program goals.
- Manages hiring and payroll
- Coordinates outreach to the community and presents on the program to actively recruit participants.
- Collaborates to develop and implement professional development workshops / seminars.
- Communicates effectively with parents / guardians regarding member needs and issues.
- Collaborate with the Principal, Assistant Principal and school faculty on program delivery to align with goals of student achievement and performance.
- Responsible for managing the program budget, including before school, after school and grant components
- Responsible for meeting grant compliance and reporting requirements
SCHEDULE :
Standard hours are 10 : 00am-6 : 00pm Monday through Friday on school days, with flexibility based on programming needs.Occasional early morning / evening / weekend hours required.Schools Out Days and summer camp hours will be adjusted as necessary by the supervisor.RELATIONSHIPS :
Internal : Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive / provide information, discuss issues, explain or interpret guidelines / instructions; instruct, and advise / counsel.External : Maintain contact as needed with McKinley school leaders and support staff, external community groups, members' parents and others to assist in resolving issues.EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES REQUIRED :
A degree in child development, education, recreation management or similar field, or comparable experience in youth development.Knowledge of after-school programs, supervising staff, and program planning.Minimum of two (2) years of experience in urban education, youth development or community organizing with at least one (1) year of supervisory experience.Must possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written.Firm understanding of child development.Knowledge of basic Microsoft Office software.Demonstrated organizational, staff and project management abilities.Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, manage priorities and workflow, while maintaining a positive, patient and calm demeanor, and establishing a positive team spirit with staff, students, and entire school community.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
May be required to walk up and down stairs, lift or move objects / materials as needed.Ability to sit and / or stand for long periods of time.Ability to get from one location in the work site(s) to other locations inside and outside from the primary worksite(s).Ability to reach and bend, and push / pull or lift objects up to thirty (30) pounds.If needed, willingness to obtain public passenger van endorsement to transport youth participantsDISCLAIMER :
