experienced and visionary leader to serve as Program
Director for our Family Medicine Residency
Program . This is a unique opportunity to shape the

MAJOR
RESPONSIBILITIES : Champion
the mission and goals of the residency program and sponsoring
institution.
Ensure compliance with ACGME
Institutional, Common, and Family Medicine Program Requirements,
maintaining full accreditation status.
Develop and maintain a high-quality curriculum aligned with ACGME
standards, State of California guidelines, and board certification
expectations, including achievement of an >
80% board pass rate
and above-average in-training exam scores.
Provide mentorship and oversight to teaching faculty, including
annual performance evaluations and professional development
opportunities in evidence-based teaching and evaluation methods.
Recruit, retain, and mentor a diverse,
high-performing group of residents who embody excellence in
whole-person care, scholarship, professionalism, and leadership.
Promote a safe and inclusive learning
environment where residents can provide feedback and raise concerns
confidentially and without retaliation.
Oversee the residency budget and ensure resources meet ACGME and
institutional requirements, while demonstrating financial
stewardship.
Build and maintain collaborative
relationships with community-based and academic teaching
institutions to enhance curriculum, faculty development, and
resident education.
Serve as an institutional
leader and advocate for graduate medical education within Adventist
Health Bakersfield and the broader community.

QUALIFICATIONS : Must hold
or be eligible for an unrestricted California medical license
Board certified in Family Medicine
Graduate of an ACGME-accredited
Family Medicine residency program
Minimum of
5 years of clinical experience in family medicine
At least 2 years as a core faculty member in
an ACGME accredited family medicine residency program
Current medical licensure and appropriate
medical staff appointment.
Ongoing clinical
activity.
Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical
and administrative experience in graduate medical education,
preferably as Program Director, Associate Program Director, Site
Director, or Core Faculty
Demonstrated
commitment to resident education, clinical excellence, and
fostering an inclusive academic environment
