GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF CLASS
An employee in this classification is responsible securing and patrolling facilities in accordance with RP Funding Center policies and specific event requirements, monitoring patron entrancing and exiting of facilities, preventing unauthorized objects entering facility, monitoring guests' safety, maintaining building safety standards, maintaining crowd control, handling patron problems, preventing disruption of events in progress, securing restricted areas and guarding valuables and moneys. An employee in this classification reports directly to the Event Staff Supervisor.
This is a part time temporary position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Inspects all entrances and exits, restricted areas, and outside building areas.

Maintains a smooth flow of traffic into the facility and performs searches or inspects articles as required.

Follows the specific event requirements.

Observes and reports suspicious behavior or activities in the facility's interior and exterior.

Maintains crowd control and remains alert to potential disturbances to implement preventive measures.

Completes and follows proper time card procedures.

Handles problems and guest complaints in a calm, professional, courteous, and timely manner.

Diffuses volatile situations quickly in accordance with RP Funding Center policies and directs others to the appropriate supervisor.

Provides special direction to guests regarding handicapped seating, procedures for lost and found articles, restroom locations, and specific event information, as instructed for the assigned event.

Keeps the railings, walls, aisles, stairs, and other areas free of congestion.

Monitors crowd for adherence to building policies, including smoking, cameras, food/beverage policies, and specific event requirements.

Monitors the facility for accidents and unsafe conditions and reports to the appropriate personnel.

Checks the facility before, during, and after events for damage and lost articles, and reports to appropriate personnel.

Monitors non-ticketed events and performs duties as event requirements dictate.

Follows the established dress and behavior codes.

Attends pre-event meetings and training classes on building policies and procedures as required.

Performs other duties and job classifications for RP Funding Center as special and emergency situations or event requirements dictate.

May be required to participate in and/or facilitate training to support departmental or City initiatives and requirements.

May be required to work overtime, or alternate hours, as necessary for the efficient operation of the department.

Position is designated as Mission Critical.

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE)
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must possess and maintain a valid telephone number.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

The job requires sedentary work with occasional walking or standing, exerting up to 10 pounds of force regularly, and routine keyboard use.

The job has no significant environmental hazards.

The job requires normal visual acuity, field of vision, hearing, speaking, color perception, depth perception, and texture perception.
