Chief Credit And Lending Officer
As a key member of the Credit team, you will be part of AgriBank's mission to support the people who feed the world. The Chief Credit & Lending Officer ensures that AgriBank provides sound, constructive, and profitable credit and financially related services, provides leadership and direction to the district's lending activities including credit / appraisal policies, standards, and practices, and gives direction to achieve compliance with the Bank's obligations in the Contractual Interbank Performance Agreement (CIPA).
Key responsibilities include :
As a member of the executive leadership team, makes strategic decisions and sets the strategic direction for AgriBank.
Initiates, identifies, analyzes, and develops key strategic initiatives.Ensures AgriBank's sustainability as a value-added partner to affiliated associations and its role in the Farm Credit System as a funding bank.Facilitates strategic dialogue between AgriBank senior leadership, Board of Directors, and association senior leadership and boards of directors.Leads, coordinates, and contributes to AgriBank's strategic and business planning process.Provides leadership for the Farm Credit System and AgriBank District through participation in various System-wide boards, committees, and workgroups.Executive Leadership :Effectively selects, leads, develops, and evaluates the performance of other leaders, teams, and departmental functions.
Allocates resources effectively across functions and departments.Sets and monitors performance standards to achieve Bank's business strategies, goals, and objectives.Responsible for appropriately protecting the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the Bank's systems and data.Performs additional responsibilities as needed to support the organization's goals and objectives.District Credit Leadership :Makes decisions on commercial and wholesale loans and lending policies as AgriBank's top credit officer and chair of the AgriBank Loan Committee.
Leads the development and implementation of credit risk management tools throughout the district to enhance portfolio management and to optimize the allowance for loan loss process and economic capital modeling.Leads the development and maintenance of appraisal standards, including benchmark farms, real estate sales data, commodity prices, and other pertinent data on current and future valuation of collateral.Develops and maintains credit and appraisal policies, standards, and practices which ensure effective credit decision-making, loan servicing and monitoring, and overall portfolio management within AgriBank and the District associations.Informs the AgriBank Board of Directors, and Association executive management of credit direction, issues, and industry trends.Provides management direction to the insurance operation and risk management initiatives; determines content of information pieces to be provided to associations and internally (to AgriBank).Lending And Credit Management :Manages the Bank credit activities related to wholesale loans, retail lending (loan participations), other financial institutions (OFI's), and retail interest rate swaps with Association customers.
Makes loan and other credit-related decisions on lending to associations, OFI's, retail lending (loan participations), and retail interest rate swaps with Association customers.Works with lead lenders and large commercial bank officers to negotiate large loan transactions and to communicate industry lending practices outside of the Farm Credit System.Provides direction and supports the Bank's liquidity investment portfolio credit assessments.System Leadership :Provides leadership for the Farm Credit System through chairing and participating in various System-wide committees, workgroups, rating agency communications, and Investor visits in support of the System Funding Corporation.
Works with other Farm Credit Bank leaders on various System initiatives including managing System hold limits and communicating with regulator on System wide issues.Informs Farm Credit District bank executives and other Farm Credit System executive management of credit direction, issues, and industry trends.Experience and professional qualifications required for the role include :
