Paralegal / Receptionist – Canfield, OH

A respected regional law firm is seeking a Paralegal / Receptionist to join its Canfield, Ohio office. This full-time, on-site position offers the opportunity to work independently on legal matters and special projects while supporting attorneys across multiple office locations.

The ideal candidate will be an organized, detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills and the ability to balance both legal and administrative responsibilities. While litigation experience is preferred, a willingness to learn additional practice areas—such as real estate and / or oil and gas—is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences

Manage paper and electronic discovery, including document organization and production

Draft pleadings, motions, affidavits, subpoenas, and related legal documents

Maintain case-management databases and attorney calendars with deadlines and hearing dates

Conduct factual investigations and prepare exhibits, charts, and other case materials

Provide professional client support via phone, email, and in person

Perform receptionist duties, including greeting visitors and answering phones

Accurately track and bill time for all completed work

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with Paralegal Certificate, associate degree in paralegal studies, or equivalent experience preferred

Prior experience in a law firm or corporate legal department preferred

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Experience with e-discovery software and document management systems

Strong writing, proofreading, and organizational skills

Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion

Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively

Current Notary Public commission required

Compensation & Benefits

Salary commensurate with experience ($55,000–$65,000)
