Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse Manager for a top healthcare client in Austin, TX .
This leadership role oversees daily operations of a high-acuity Level III NICU with 97 beds, an average census of 75, and 150 total FTEs. The Manager is responsible for ensuring exceptional standards of neonatal care, maintaining compliance with evidence-based practices, and fostering a culture of clinical excellence, teamwork, and accountability across all shifts.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations, staffing, and clinical performance of the 97-bed Level III NICU.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care through adherence to evidence-based standards.
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff, fostering professional development and accountability.
- Collaborate with neonatologists, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Manage departmental budgets, equipment maintenance, and resource allocation.
- Support compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement initiatives to improve patient satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Identify training needs and promote continuous staff education and clinical competency.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) requiredExperience
Minimum of 3–5 years of healthcare experienceMinimum of 2 years of acute care leadership experience requiredCertifications / Licenses
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact State licenseBasic Life Support (BLS) certification requiredSpecialty certification (e.g., RNC-NIC or equivalent) required within 6 months of hireACLS preferredSkills or Competencies
