Regulatory Specialist
We are seeking a detail-oriented Regulatory Specialist to join our team in a small, close-knit company environment. You will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with food manufacturing regulatory requirements, maintaining essential documentation, and supporting audits. This position requires strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain regulatory documents, including allergen statements, Certificates of Origin, Country of Manufacture, GMO statements, Kosher certifications, Safety Data Sheets, Letters of Guarantee, nutritional information, Product Specifications, HACCP flowcharts, SQF Audits, Emergency Contacts, Lot Code explanations, and Shelf-life extensions.
- Maintain updates on FDA, USDA, FSMA, and all regulatory changes.
- Support audits (internal, third-party, and customer) by maintaining accurate compliance records.
- Monitor updates in food and flavor regulations and communicate relevant changes to management.
- Assist with ingredient, label, and formula reviews for regulatory accuracy.
- Collaborate with production to maintain compliance with PCQI, HACCP, and quality assurance programs.
- Oversee accurate lot tracking, batch documentation, and inventory management.
- Assist with hazardous material handling and shipping paperwork.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency and safety in manufacturing.
- Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, document control, and data entry.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
Experience in food manufacturing regulatory affairs.Knowledge of FDA, USDA labeling regulations, and FSMA compliance.Experience completing and managing regulatory documents.Discretion handling proprietary and confidential information.Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.Strong math, reading, and writing skills.Excellent attention to detail; accurate and organized.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Strong multitasking, problem-solving, and communication skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Team-oriented with a proactive and efficient work style.Ability to work in environments with some exposure to odors and chemicals.Must be able to work without limitations or restrictions.High school diploma (or equivalent) required.HACCP certification and PCQI training.Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing environment within a very small company of 14 people. The work involves exposure to strong scents, as the company specializes in creating flavors. Employees are treated like family in this small, family-owned business.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Belcamp, Maryland.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00 / hr.
