Job Description

McCormick Taylor is seeking a qualified Transportation Engineer to join our Fort Myers, FL or Tampa, FL location. Given our corporate hybrid work policy and remote work flexibility, we would entertain candidates from a variety of locations within Florida with relationships focused in the Southwest Florida region and FDOT District 1 and 7. Candidates should have a detailed understanding of transportation engineering projects, planning, analysis and design for Southwest FL Counties, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and the Florida Turnpike Enterprise.

  • Work directly with our FL Team which is focused on planning, analysis and design of highway and traffic engineering projects and structures.
  • Support existing client relationships, as well as research and develop / expand the client base.
  • Aid in proposal writing / preparation and marketing and outreach efforts.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering
  • A FL Professional Engineer license highly preferred, EIT required
  • 6-10 years of experience in a similar position
  • Highway / roadway / traffic design experience with direct experience / relationships with FDOT and FTE including design criteria, standards and procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well autonomously and with limited supervision
  • Ability to effectively communicate thoughts and ideas to internal staff and clients
