Position Summary The Epic Revenue Cycle Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing projects related to Epic revenue cycle implementation, optimization, and operational performance improvement.
This role ensures that Epic Resolute (Hospital Billing and Professional Billing), Charge Router, Prelude, and associated revenue cycle modules are deployed successfully, aligned with organizational goals, and fully adopted by stakeholders.
The Project Manager works closely with clinical, financial, and IT leaders to ensure project scope, timelines, and outcomes are delivered with high quality.
Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Execution Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of Epic revenue cycle projects, including new implementations, upgrades, and optimization efforts.
Develop and manage project charters, scope documents, detailed work plans, and status reports.
Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies to keep projects on track.
Coordinate with Epic-certified analysts, technical staff, revenue cycle operations, and vendors to ensure deliverables are met.
Revenue Cycle Expertise Provide project leadership across core Epic Revenue Cycle modules (Resolute HB, Resolute PB, Charge Router, Prelude, Referrals / ADT).
Understand end-to-end workflows in scheduling, registration, charge capture, billing, claims, denials, and cash posting.
Collaborate with revenue integrity, HIM, patient access, and patient financial services leaders to align Epic functionality with business needs.
Stakeholder Management Facilitate meetings with operational, clinical, and IT stakeholders to ensure alignment on goals and requirements.
Serve as the primary liaison between revenue cycle operations and IT teams.
Communicate project status, progress, risks, and decisions clearly to executive sponsors and project governance bodies.
Testing, Training, & Readiness Oversee integrated testing of revenue cycle workflows, including charge capture, claim submission, and payment posting.
Ensure training, job aids, and change management support are in place for revenue cycle staff.
Lead go-live readiness planning, including cutover coordination and contingency planning for billing operations.
Post-Go-Live Support & Optimization Lead revenue cycle stabilization efforts after implementation, including issue triage and prioritization.
Drive continuous improvement and optimization efforts based on KPIs, feedback, and system enhancements.
Ensure compliance with payer requirements, CMS guidelines, and internal financial controls.
