Job Summary / Description :

WCAX-TV has an immediate opening for a news producer responsible for daily live newscasts. We are looking for a newsroom leader who can multitask and make split-second decisions. The ideal candidate will be a clear communicator with strong organizational skills and excellent writing ability.

Duties / Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

Demonstrating creativity and strong editorial judgment

Developing and organizing newscasts

Writing and editing news scripts for TV & digital platforms

Editing video for TV & digital platforms

Giving direction to reporters and photographers on deadline

Creating graphics for news stories

Coordinating live shots

Communicating with anchors and production staff during live broadcasts

Using social media outlets to engage viewers

Qualifications / Requirements :

Bachelor's Degree in journalism or related field

Excellent news judgment

Strong broadcast writing and visual storytelling skills

Strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

At least 2 years of newsroom experience

Familiarity with ENPS, Edius, and web posting preferred
