Job Description
Support students in the classroom and contribute to a positive learning environment as a Substitute Paraprofessional. This on-call role involves providing instructional and behavioral assistance to students under the direction of certified educators. Substitute Paraprofessionals help ensure students stay engaged, supported, and safe throughout the school day.
Minimum Qualifications :
Valid Michigan Paraprofessional Certificate OR 60 college credit hours from an accredited institution
Experience working with children in an academic or care setting preferred
Clear communication and the ability to follow directions
Dependability, patience, and a professional attitude
High school diploma or GED required
Responsibilities Include :
Assisting in academic instruction, classroom activities, and behavior management
Supporting students in general education and / or special education settings
Monitoring student behavior and encouraging positive interactions
Providing supervision during transitions, lunch, or recess
Maintaining confidentiality and following school policies
This flexible, as-needed role offers the opportunity to support student success while gaining experience in school-based settings.
Hours are not guaranteed and shifts will be offered on an as-needed basis according to school needs.
