  • Your Next Career Opportunity – Director, Global Compensation
  • SBA Communications is seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Compensation to lead the design, implementation, administration, and governance of global compensation programs.
  • Managing compensation and HR related process and projects; Facilitating the generation of reports, data analysis, and ensuring summaries represent results as needed.

    This role is critical in ensuring SBA’s compensation practices are competitive, equitable, and aligned with our business objectives across 14 countries.

    The Director will partner closely with senior leadership, HR, and Finance to support a high-performance culture and drive talent retention and engagement.

  • What You Will Do – Primary Responsibilities
  • Compensation Strategy & Program Design
  • Develop and execute SBA’s global compensation strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and market competitiveness.
  • Lead the design and administration of base pay and short-term incentive plans for all employee levels, including executives.
  • Ensure compensation programs support SBA’s values and culture.Compensation Administration
  • Plan, develop and implement our global compensation programs, including policies, processes, and communications.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines, and procedures, providing insights and recommendations that support strategy and objectives.

  • Oversee the compensation administration process, including the planning and implementation of annual salary reviews, merit increases, and short / long-term incentives.
  • Lead compensation survey administration and analysis.
  • Design and maintain proper job evaluation and architecture processes.
  • Lead and maintain the salary grade structure design.
  • Support international market assessments as required.
  • Market assessments will evaluate jobs against internal and external benchmarking, ensuring pay practices are competitive within the industry, compliant with all government requirements, and equitable internally.

  • Contribute to communicating and educating employees on the organization's various compensation opportunities globally.
  • Manage and oversee the company’s annual merit and bonus plan administration.Global Compensation Management
  • Oversee compensation practices across 14 countries, ensuring compliance with local labor laws and market norms.
  • Partner with regional HR business partners to adapt programs to local needs while maintaining global consistency.Analytics, Benchmarking & Reporting
  • Lead market benchmarking and compensation surveys to ensure SBA remains competitive in all geographies.
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to senior leadership and the Compensation Committee.
  • Develop compensation dashboards, models, and scenario analyses to support strategic decision-making.Governance & Compliance
  • Ensure compensation programs comply with global regulations, internal policies, and public company disclosure requirements.
  • Ensure compliance in such areas as EEO, Fair Labor Standards, Wage and Hour, FMLA, and other regulatory requirements, and stay up to date on changes.
  • Assist with global compliance by ensuring local statutory requirements related to employee compensation are adhered to.

  • Support proxy disclosures and other filings.
  • Ensure compensation programs are administered in compliance with policies and government regulations through audits, reports, etc.Team Leadership & Collaboration
  • Ensure compensation programs comply with global regulations, internal policies, and public company disclosure requirements.
  • Ensure compliance in such areas as EEO, Fair Labor Standards, Wage and Hour, FMLA, and other regulatory requirements, and stay up to date on changes.
  • Assist with global compliance by ensuring local statutory requirements related to employee compensation are adhered to.

  • Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Work with Talent Acquisition to recruit, interview, select, hire, and employ a talented and diverse group of high-performing team members.
  • Provide oversight and direction to team members in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members, including overseeing new team member onboarding and providing career development planning and growth opportunities.
  • Empower team members to take ownership of their job and goals.
  • Delegate responsibilities as needed and provide routine constructive feedback on performance.

  • Create a culture that is consistent with the organization's focus on team member engagement, and that aligns with the organization's mission, vision, and values.
  • Lead team members using a performance management and development-focused approach to assist in goal setting, two-way feedback, and performance development planning.
  • Lead team members to meet the organization's expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.
  • What You’ll Need – Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field : Master’s degree or CCP certification preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive compensation experience, including global program management and executive compensation.
  • Experience in a publicly traded company with international operations.
  • Strong analytical and modeling skills; strong proficiency with compensation tools and systems (e.g., Workday, Radford, Mercer).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and matrixed environment.
