Job Description

We are seeking skilled Engineering Technicians to support undersea tracking, test, and evaluation systems. These positions provide technical support to Navy programs in a hands-on environment, working with advanced electronic, acoustic, and mechanical systems.

\n

This posting covers two levels : Engineering Technician II (entry-level with 1+ year of experience) and Engineering Technician IV (senior-level with 5+ years of experience). Placement will be based on qualifications and experience. These positions REQUIRE ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE .

\n

Responsibilities : Engineering Technician II

\n \n

  • Support undersea tracking range operations by operating and maintaining range support systems (electronic, acoustic, video, mechanical, electro-hydraulic).

\n

  • Maintain logs, conduct trend analysis, and update range databases.
  • \n

  • Perform monthly system backups, software upgrades, and failure analysis reporting.
  • \n

  • Provide technical support for Fleet Validation / Verification and Range Tests (dockside and shipboard).
  • \n

  • Support design, fabrication, and assembly of developmental range test systems.
  • \n

  • Conduct depot-level repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of MK30 Target components and assemblies.
  • \n

  • Support turn-around, breakdown / reassembly, and troubleshooting of MK30 Targets and Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUVs).
  • \n

  • Provide technical support for communications / radio equipment, parts research, and extended operational schedules.
  • \n \n

    Engineering Technician IV

    \n \n

  • Manage and track test items in the CATTS database from receipt to final disposition.
  • \n

  • Prepare, compile, and review test packages and ensure adherence to local procedures.
  • \n

  • Provide active status reporting on test schedules, issues, and recommendations.
  • \n

  • Maintain and update test databases, parts dictionaries, and tracking sequences.
  • \n

  • Monitor movement of components through test sequences to ensure timely completion.
  • \n

  • Support test engineers with research and historical analysis of test records.
  • \n

  • Handle classified and unclassified test item storage, inventory, and shipments.
  • \n

  • Maintain Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System (FRACAS), Failure Analysis Reports, and production control documentation.
  • \n

  • Ship and document classified / non-classified test items per Navy standards.
  • \n

  • Maintain ISO9000 lab manual instructions for production control processes.
  • \n \n

    Required Qualifications

    \n \n

  • \n Active DoD Secret Clearance (must be current).
  • \n

  • \n Associate degree in electronics, engineering technology, or related field.
  • \n

  • Experience :
  • \n

  • \n Engineering Technician II : 1+ year relevant experience.
  • \n

  • \n Engineering Technician IV : 5+ years relevant experience.
  • \n \n

    Preferred Qualifications

    \n \n

  • Electronics troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • \n

  • Experience testing circuit cards and electronic assemblies.
  • \n

  • Knowledge of test tracking databases (e.g., CATTS, TMIS).
  • \n

  • Prior Navy or defense industry support experience.
  • \n \n
