Job description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Foster an environment of teamwork, compliance and continual improvement.
  • Receive and offload materials.
  • Operate various types of forklifts, man-lifts, and overhead crane.
  • Uncrate, unpack received packages as well as verify correctness and completeness of parts / items received vs. POs and packing lists (read, count, sort, stock, verify numbers, etc.).
  • Visually inspect for and document damages, overages and shortages, and notify concerned parties of any issues, as well as store and archive supporting documents for all shipments.
  • Process goods receipts into SAP, as well as assist maintaining inventories.
  • Sort and archive shipping documentation received, distribute and provide proof of receipts to concerned parties.
  • Prepare shipments of materials for delivery including the following functions : Tag, preserve, pack, protect, palletize, box, shrink wrap, crate, document, etc., as well as notify logistics team of any discrepancies on documents, parts, paperwork.
  • Issue documents for parcel shipments (FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc.).
  • Support Logistics team by issuing supporting documents (Packing lists, BLs, etc.).
  • Computer literacy (SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook), ability to send e-mail notifications and correspondence with various teams.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of S&R area as well as laydown area.
  • Maintain flow of cargo through warehouse.
  • Issue parts and materials to warehouse as per Logistics department or other department’s instructions.
  • Ability to work and support other departments on matters related to equipment readiness.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 5 years of shipping & receiving experience or equivalent combined technical training and on the job training.
  • SAP MM experience.
  • Ability to accomplish tasks while being safety minded.
  • OSHA certified forklift operator.
  • Preferred Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment drawings, manuals, sketches, and specifications.
  • Basic knowledge of turbomachinery parts and components as well as MRO materials.
  • Overhead crane operation and hydraulic crane rigging experience as well as basic operation of other industry related handling equipment.
