About The Position

Job Title : Histology Technician

Must-Have :

• Hospital experience required
• Experience with routine hospital anatomical pathology specimens
• Ability to perform grossing, embedding, microtomy, and staining processes
• Skills in preparing Thin Prep, cell block, and cytospin specimens
• Knowledge of automated IHC and special stains

Description :

The position involves working a Sunday through Thursday schedule.

The Histology Technician will be responsible for performing various tasks in histology including grossing, embedding, microtomy, and staining.

Experience with routine anatomical pathology specimens is essential.

The role requires knowledge of both automated and manual staining techniques.

The technician must be able to prepare slides for staining and perform frozen section procedures.

Strong skills in utilizing different fixatives and staining methods are necessary.

Ability to work with a team and provide interdisciplinary support is expected.

The technician may need to float between units as required.

This position involves working with a diverse patient population including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

Candidates should be prepared to work during two out of three major holidays : Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year.

References verifying at least one year of supervisory experience in a comparable specialty are required.
