We are looking for a dedicated and analytical Cost Accountant to join our manufacturing team in Haverhill, Massachusetts. In this role, you will play a key part in analyzing costs, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Responsibilities :

• Analyze and evaluate manufacturing work orders to ensure accurate costing in line with company methodologies.
• Collect and interpret data on raw materials, labor, and inventory to calculate the true cost of business operations.
• Prepare monthly cost of sales reports by analyzing material, labor, and R& D expenses, and identify variances between standard and actual production costs.
• Support the Accounting Manager with journal entries related to cost of sales and scrap during monthly financial close.
• Maintain and reconcile inventory records using established valuation methods and procedures.
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing accurate and timely documentation as required.
• Investigate cost variances, generate routine and ad hoc financial reports, and offer insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in using Great Plains, SAP, Excel (including advanced functions), PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across various teams.
• Demonstrated expertise in standard cost accounting and cost variance analysis.
• Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver actionable insights.
