PATIENT ACCOUNT REPRESENTATIVE

As a Patient Account Representative, you'll help patients access critical treatments by managing benefit verification, prior authorizations, and appeals.

Put your healthcare and medical insurance knowledge to work in a specialty pharmacy setting where your expertise in healthcare administration drives real impact—all from the comfort of your home.

LOCATION & BENEFIT :

Remote-TX – Must live in the Dallas – Fort Worth Metroplex

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE :

  • $18–$20 / hour
  • Monday - Friday | availability for an 8-hour shift between 8am - 8pm EST or 7am – 7pm CST

ROLE IMPACT

The Patient Account Representative supports patients in accessing essential therapies by coordinating benefits, authorizations, and financial assistance. Success in this role is defined by ensuring timely treatment access, accurate account management, and delivering compassionate, patient-centered service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as primary point of contact for patients regarding insurance coverage, benefits, and account questions
  • Verify insurance eligibility, secure prior authorizations, and support appeals processes
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and specialty pharmacies to streamline care
  • Educate patients on available financial assistance programs and provide empathetic support
  • Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Previous experience in healthcare, insurance, or patient financial services strongly preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to explain complex insurance details clearly
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with EHR or patient management systems
  • Must reside in the Dallas–Fort Worth area
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining organization and accuracy
