Dinsmore is seeking a Junior Staff Accountant to join our accounting team at our Cincinnati, OH location.
The Junior Staff Accountant provides comprehensive administrative and accounting support to the Finance Department. This position is responsible for performing clerical and bookkeeping duties, maintaining financial records, and assisting with routine accounting functions to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of departmental operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and strong organizational skills while supporting both administrative and accounting processes.
Responsibilities
- Perform general administrative tasks including filing, scheduling, and correspondence for the Finance Department
- Assist in the preparation, processing of expense reports, travel reconciliations, Credit card reconciliations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and spreadsheets, including Firm Dues / Licensures, Firm Leases, Finance Contact list, etc.
- Support Finance functions by processing payments, reconciling statements, and monitoring outstanding balances
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports, statements, and supporting schedules
- Reconcile bank deposits, ledgers, Partner expense reports, and other accounting records to ensure accuracy
- Assist in monthly adjusting entries for General Ledger and budgets
- Review of Stale checks for Unclaimed funds
- Assist with Tax department filings to ensure all deadlines are met
- Provide documentation and support for audits, regulatory compliance, and month-end and year-end close processes
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with the utmost integrity.
- Perform additional ad hoc duties as needed
Requirements
Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferredOne to three years of bookkeeping and / or accounting experience requiredWorking knowledge of basic accounting principles and practicesProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) required; experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar ERP systems) preferredStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesHigh degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilityExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environmentEqual Opportunity Employer
