University of Tampa is hiring : Assistant Teaching Professor, Music in Tampa

The Music Department within the College of Arts and Letters at the University of Tampa seeks a full-time, non-tenure-track position as an Assistant Teaching Professor of Music with experience in popular musics of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries to begin in August 2026.

The primary responsibility of this position is to teach music humanities survey courses on popular styles to majors and non-majors, as well as a music-centered humanities class that includes a focus on reading and writing for the university's general education curriculum.

We seek a faculty member with a passion for teaching who will work to maintain and eventually expand the department's course offerings in popular musical styles. The successful candidate will also participate in departmental and college / university service and occasionally oversee senior capstone research.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Music is required.
