Compliance Program Specialist 4
The Office of the Secretary (OS) is responsible for setting the overall vision, mission and long-term goals of the department. OS provides leadership and management of all departmental programs, communicates departmental direction, ensures the quality of services provided, and fosters better relations with all stakeholders, thereby increasing awareness and use of departmental services.
This position involves independent management responsibilities and specialized work in accomplishing requirements of the civil rights compliance program both internal and external to the Louisiana Works. The work is directed at the implementation, review, audit, training, and monitoring of Statewide Community Service Block Grant (CSBG) Agencies, Statewide Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Agencies, and American Job Centers (both Employment Services and Unemployment Insurance (UI) funded by the U. S. Government through the Workforce Investment Act, Wagner Peyser, and Community Service Block Grant in order to insure nondiscrimination in employment of policy and procedures based upon federal rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
Work is performed at the administrative complex as well as on-site statewide.
Minimum Qualifications :
Six years of experience in monitoring compliance with federal nondiscrimination laws and regulations; or in human resources or employment law; OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years of experience in monitoring compliance with federal nondiscrimination laws and regulations; or in human resources or employment law; OR A bachelor's degree plus three years of experience in monitoring compliance with federal nondiscrimination laws and regulations; or in human resources or employment law; OR An advanced degree plus two years of experience in monitoring compliance with federal nondiscrimination laws and regulations; or in human resources or employment law. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION : Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Location : Baton Rouge, La Appointment Type : This position may be filled as either a Probational or a Job Appointment (open to all qualified applicants); a Promotion (open to all statewide classified and agency-wide permanent status employees); or by Detail to Special Duty. Current permanent status, classified employees may be required to accept a Probational appointment if selected. If filled as a Job Appointment, there is a possibility that this position may be converted to a Probational Appointment should funding become available.
