Position Description :
Assess
jobsite culture and worker engagement to develop programs to cultivate work
environments that eliminate hate and bias and enable workers to perform at
their best, to feel valued, be treated with respect and dignity, feel safe, and
be authentic throughout lifecycle of project to set the tone for the right
environment.
Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities :
Elevate worker experiences and jobsite cultures across company engagements and promote inclusiveness and respect into every project site and office meeting.
Promote Inclusive and Respectful Workplace (IRW) Playbook of actionable steps throughout project lifecycle that guide Turner project workers to instill inclusive and respectful workplace.
Leverage information about Worker Experiences, Vandalism and Graffiti Policy, and Bias Motivated Events (BME) Protocols to inform and educate Turner leadership and workers about beneficial impacts of actions to support an inclusive and respectful workplace.
Collaborate and engage with local community entities to support cultural demographics within project.
Develop and promote site-specific IRW Playbook plan inclusive of amenities and actions that differentiate Turner jobsites and enhance worker experiences.
Maintains project specific IRW Playbook plan as project dynamics and conditions change.
Participate in Project Planning during procurement phase to ensure clear expectations set with subcontractors.
Participate in Project Launch to establish alignment and implementation of IRW Playbook plan during mobilization and project kickoff.
Perform 'Plan - Do - Check - Adjust" (PDCA) approach with project teams throughout project to establish culture of continuous improvement and adoption of IRW Playbook.
Participate in Project Response actions and response during Vandalism and Graffiti or Bias Motivated Event incident.
Partner with EH&S and HR teams to develop risk mitigation and preventative strategies to eliminate recurrence of events.
Identify potential conflicts, assess options and solutions to maintain and enhance worker environment.
Develop and promote use of workplace best practices throughout BUs.
Provide training to subcontractor crew leaders to support education and adoption of Turner workplace culture standards. Encourage crew leaders to model and maintain workplace culture standards.
Promote opportunities, and trainings which encourage personal and professional development, growth, ownership, buy-in, and empowerment.
Conduct project site audits of workplace culture and recommend corrective actions as needed.
Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) to receive training on how to approach workers with concerns and deescalate and manage difficult situations.
Create and maintain communication strategy and cadence of communications to distribute information through project and crew leaders to workers and develop feedback loops.
Define, assess progress, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), measurable metrics, and solutions for inclusiveness and BU IRW Playbook guidelines. Promote awareness of "You asked, we did" program and communicate results and outcomes. Conduct routine check-ins with project stakeholders to discuss plan progress, plus and deltas. Escalate matters with care to Senior Leadership and HR, as necessary.
Establish systematic approach for Trade representatives to adopt IRW Playbook and project's plan standards and promote
communications about culture,
inclusiveness and worker experiences.
Develop and manage cost efficient solutions and programs aligned with project budgets.
Standardize IRW Playbook procedures, processes, and share best practices across project (and / or BU as applicable) and in collaboration with other Field Culture Managers.
Walk project sites to engage with trade foremen and workers to build relationships and assess adoption of IRW Playbook plans.
Partner with Safety and local HR to educate BU and project teams on processes to reporting and actions during Vandalism, Graffiti or Bias Motivated Event incident.
Primary resource for project teams seeking guidance on implementing IRW Playbook plan, programs, and initiatives.
Create customizable IRW Playbook program template for projects to select at project startup / setup (e.g., facilities, worker engagement opportunities, feedback, training).
Create RACI chart and "roles and responsibilities" list to inform project leaders and workers of assignments / contributions for successful and sustainable IRW Playbook plan and implementation.
Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree from accredited degree program in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field of study with minimum of 5 years in field construction or related experience, or equivalent combination of education, training,and experience
Experience with various construction project sizes (>
< $100M)
Strong passion for creating best possible worker experiences and ability to advocate for others
Display interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to acquire information and discern impacts to workforce culture and programs
Active listening skills, able to ask clarifying questions, learn and process information quickly
Extensive understanding of project jobsite logistics and planning associated with project progression
Demonstrate fundamental management and leadership skills (e.g., opportunistic, self-monitoring, self-correcting) with ability to operate independently
Advanced project management skills with ability to drive results and accountability, prioritize responsibilities, manage competing demands, and meet deadlines
Highly organized with attention to detail, and able to quickly develop understanding of needs and requirements
Process and analytical skills to make decisions, ability to address conflicts with collaborative resolution process, and know when to escalate issues
Experience defining metrics, conducting gap analysis, assessing results, and recommend or develop risk mitigation plans
