Manufacturing Robotics Engineer – Manassas, VA
Job Summary : We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Robotics Engineer to join our team at a leading defense contractor. The successful candidate will have a strong background in robotics, programming, and controls, with experience in high-volume, low-mix manufacturing environments. This is a mid-level to senior role, and the ideal candidate will have a proven track record of optimizing and maintaining automated production lines.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement robotic automation solutions for manufacturing processes
 - Program and integrate Fanuc and Epson robots with existing manufacturing systems, utilizing PLC programming expertise
 - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement
 - Develop and maintain documentation for robotic systems and processes
 - Optimize and maintain the production line to ensure maximum uptime and throughput, while maintaining high-quality standards
 - Work closely with the support team to troubleshoot and resolve issues, and implement improvements to increase efficiency and productivity
 
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field5+ years of experience in robotics, automation, or a related field, with a focus on high-volume, low-mix manufacturing environmentsProficiency in PLC programming, with experience in industrial robot programming and integration (Fanuc and Epson experience highly preferred)S-trong understanding of manufacturing principles, including lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologiesExperience with machine tending and automation of manual stationsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environmentPreferred Qualifications
Certification in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Statistical Process Control (SPC)Experience with other industrial robots and automation systemsStrong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teamsProven track record of increasing efficiency and productivity in a manufacturing environmentWork Environment
