Summary
The Components Operations Director (PAE) is responsible for the management of component operations of the assigned business unit. This position ensures operations compliance in accordance with the Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR's), customer requirements, and the ATS Repair Station Manual (RSM). Responsible for leading, directing, and controlling the resources required to successfully accomplish compliance goals.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Oversees Components operations, including Maintenance, Supply Chain, Logistics, Account Services, and other support staff.
Responsible for the business unit's performance of maintenance, preventative maintenance and alteration in accordance with applicable regulations and customer requirements.
Ensures all work is completed meeting high quality standards and is performed in accordance with approved Federal Aviation Administration, government, manufacturer, and customer procedures and requirements.
Manages departmental resources to ensure appropriate levels of support are provided.
Works with other operations leadership to ensure most efficient utilization of manpower and resources.
Ensures production schedules are developed and provided to operations. Assists in assuring schedule discipline.
Approves Program and Contractual pricing in alignment with Sales.
Assists in customer communications and business negotiations for assigned operations programs as required.
Assists in providing customer satisfactions through quarterly / performance reviews.
Responsible for financial performance including budgeting and forecasting.
Responsible for implementation of programs, managing financial performance, and providing recommendations to expand margins.
Assists in providing monthly program performance reviews to senior management.
Responsible for participating in the development of the strategic direction.
Ensures direction of Component repairs and programs are consistent with ATS strategy, with awareness of impact other maintenance programs.
Partners with Human Resources in the hiring and qualification of maintenance personnel as determined by experience, training and performance.
Ensures personnel are properly qualified to perform duties assigned to them.
Coaches and develops mechanics, leads, and supervisors and provides input on improving the components apprentice training program.
Works with support organizations to ensure necessary product and services can be delivered when required.
Performs other duties as assigned. Some travel may be required.
Education And Experience
Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
Minimum of eight (8) years' experience in quality assurance, quality control or aviation maintenance program, or an equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
Minimum of five (5) years' previous supervisory experience preferred.
Experience in applying Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement methodology preferred.
Physical Effort And Dexterity
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit; use their hands and arms; and talk or hear; and focus on objects close up. The employee will also be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee may be required to lift and / or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.
Compensation The full base pay range for this position is $128k - $191k annually, not including bonuses or benefits. Your pay will be based on your experience, skills, and education, as well as internal equity to ensure fairness across the team. Candidates closer to the lower end of the range are typically building their expertise, while those at the higher end bring significant experience and specialized knowledge. This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus.
