Pathway to Choices provides Independent Living, Supported Living, and Adult Day Services to people with developmental disabilities. We have a strong value of consumer choice and a focus on independent living and home support. We have multiple Instructor positions available and are seeking bi-lingual staff to support our consumers. A friendly, outgoing person with clear communication skills is a must.
Base pay range is provided by Pathway To Choices; your actual pay will be based on skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.
Job Description
Open until filled. Day Program Instructor responsibilities include providing supported services and instruction to consumers in alignment with individualized goals.
Base pay range
$20.00 / hr - $20.00 / hr
Responsibilities
- Implements curriculum and activity schedules for consumers served; provides training in consumer-specific goals and objectives across domains including Behavior Management, Independent Living, Pre-Vocational / Vocational Activities, Literacy, Community Participation, Self-Advocacy / Self-Determination, Health and Well Being, use of Public Transportation, Money Management, Personal Care, and Medication Administration.
- Lesson preparation, teaching subject matter, and documenting consumer progress toward goals and objectives daily, weekly, monthly and annually.
- Actively participates in meetings including ISP meetings, Quarterly and Semi-Annual reviews, Behavior Management Plan Sessions, Governance Meetings, staff meetings, and In-Service Training.
- Maintains professional relationships with consumers, families, agency staff, RCEB, Community Care Licensing, community members, and employers.
- Implements community-based paid and volunteer opportunities for consumers.
- Ensures consumer rights are not violated.
- Completes required training (CPR, First Aid, ProAct Training, etc.).
- Other duties as assigned.
- Have some experience working with people with different behaviors.
Minimum Qualifications
Attainment of at least 18 years of age.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.Excellent oral and written communication skills, including computer skills.Interest and willingness to work with consumers to meet their needs and choices.Ability and willingness to be flexible.Valid California Driver's License, adequate transportation including valid automobile insurance and current registration, and a clean DMV record.Upon offer of employment, complete a Statement of Prior Criminal Conviction, obtain a California Criminal Clearance (Live-Scan Fingerprinting) or a Criminal Record Exemption, obtain and maintain required training (including First Aid, CPR, and Pro-Act Training).Preferred Knowledge
Knowledge of the service system for adults with developmental disabilities in California.Understanding and commitment to normalization, inclusion, positive programming, and consumer-driven services.Duties and Responsibilities
Implements curriculum and activity schedules for consumers served; provides training in consumer-specific goals and objectives.Documentation of consumer progress toward goals and objectives daily, weekly, monthly, and annually.Participation in meetings and trainings as listed above.Maintain professional relationships with consumers, families, agency staff, and community partners.Support community-based paid and volunteer opportunities for consumers.Protect consumer rights and safety.Complete required training (CPR, First Aid, ProAct) as required.Other duties as assigned.Schedule & Requirements
Hours : Monday to Friday 9 : 00 am to 3 : 00 pm.Reliable transportation and a clean driving record; preferred to have driven in Contra Costa and Alameda County.Candidate should have held a position for more than one year at a previous or current job.Preferable female candidate per client's choice.Benefits
